My name is Emily (she/her) and my ancestry is mixed - Mohawk (First Nations) on my father's side and mixed Algonquin and European-Settler on my mother's side. 

As an Indigenous, disabled and neurospicy (ADHD) mentor myself, I have been navigating this industry as a space holder for around 5 years and a client for even longer.

The thing that first led to me teaching coaches about decolonization was that most leaders have not been trained in how to hold space when the issue of race comes up.

I've had a few experiences with coaches and therapists of European descent that have ranged from unhelpful to downright harmful. 

This class is me sharing what I wish my mentors had done and said when I needed a safe space to unpack ancestral trauma, colonialism, assimilation and racism.
